StoreClear Privacy Policy

Overview

StoreClear (“the App”) is an Android storage management application published by Michael StoreClear (com.michael.storeclear). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how that information is used, and your choices.

Privacy principle: StoreClear is designed to operate locally on your device. The App does not request network access, does not use third-party analytics, and does not transmit your personal files or storage data to external servers.

Information We Access

To provide storage analysis, duplicate detection, and secure deletion features, the App may access:

• Files and folders on your device storage (photos, videos, audio, documents, downloads, and other files you grant access to)
• Installed application metadata and storage usage statistics (to show app and cache sizes)
• Device storage capacity and usage summaries

All scanning, hashing, categorization, and shredding operations run on your device. File contents are not uploaded or shared with us or third parties.

Information Stored on Your Device

The App may store the following data locally in an on-device database:

• File hash cache entries (to speed up duplicate scans)
• Secure deletion history logs (file names, sizes, algorithms used, and timestamps)

This data remains on your device unless you clear app data or uninstall the App. You can review deletion logs from within the App.

Android Permissions

Depending on your Android version, the App may request permissions such as:

• Read/write external storage (legacy Android versions)
• Read media (images, video, audio)
• All-files access (manage external storage), when needed for full storage analysis
• Usage access (to display per-app storage statistics)
• Query all packages (to list installed applications and their storage usage)

You can deny or revoke permissions in Android Settings. Some features may be limited without the relevant permission.

What We Do Not Collect

• No account registration or personal profile data
• No advertising identifiers or third-party analytics
• No transmission of your files, contacts, location, or messages to our servers
• No sale of personal information

Secure Deletion

When you use secure shredding features, file overwriting is performed locally on your device using multi-pass overwrite methods. Deleted file contents are not retained by the App after successful shredding.

Children’s Privacy

StoreClear is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
